Here at Persimmon Hill Farm, we strive to provide our customers with quality products that are produced in an ethical manner.  We feel that animals should be raised in a manner that allows them to exhibit their natural behaviors.  Pigs should be outside rooting in the pastures and woodlots not on concrete.  Chickens don't belong in huge barns devoid of sunlight and filled with dander and ammonia.  They should be outside where they can peck at the ground, eat grasses and chase bugs.  Cows weren't built to live in feedlots.  They are designed to live on grass and that's where they belong.  Raising animals in a manner that acknowledges their natural behaviors and allows them to be exhibited is not only better for the animals, when managed properly, it is better for the land as well.
